Chicago premier of ‘RAJA 420’: A celebrated screening of local talent and Bollywood flair

On Sunday, September 8th, the highly anticipated Chicago premier of the movie RAJA 420 took place at the Bensenville Theater in Bensenville, IL. Produced by Ramesh Punatar of USA Film Productions, the action-comedy film is entirely filmed in Chicago, featuring local actors and blending Hindi with some English dialogue, along with English subtitles.
The event drew an estimated 150 guests, who gathered to watch the lively and engaging story of RAJA 420. Attendees enjoyed the film thoroughly, showering the producers—Anand Bhatt, Sean Patel, and Ramesh Punatar—with praise for their work. The premier brought together various artists, actors, and producers from the Indian film industry, giving the event a celebratory atmosphere. Chief guests included Sunil Shah, Hitesh Gandhi, and Shreedatt Vyas, a distinguished director with more than 25 films to his credit in India. Their presence added to the prestige of the evening.
As a special treat, the first 50 guests were greeted with gifts upon arrival. Following the screening, lucky attendees were selected to receive expensive gifts, capping the night with excitement and generosity.
The film’s plot revolves around Raja, a hard-working immigrant from India who has just started a new job as a driver for his distant uncle Nish’s transportation company. What begins as a seemingly ordinary first day takes a sharp turn when Raja discovers that his client is far from ordinary. Raja, having faced his share of struggles in life, must rely on an enigmatic stranger named 420 to survive a whirlwind night of chaos.
The movie’s premier highlighted not only the creative talents involved but also showcased the vibrant film culture thriving within Chicago’s Indian community. RAJA 420 stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of local talent and the strong bonds between the Indian diaspora and the film industry.
