Ed Sheeran calls Armaan Malik a talented artist and true friend

Global music icon Ed Sheeran recently expressed his heartfelt appreciation for Indian singer Armaan Malik, calling him not just a talented artist but also a true friend.

The British singer-songwriter praised Armaan for his incredible performance as the opening act during his Hyderabad concert, acknowledging the energy he brought to the stage. In a viral video, Sheeran can be heard saying, “I met this man in 2021, and it’s been quite a journey together… He is such a good friend, and I’m glad he came here tonight. Please make some noise for Armaan Malik.”

Currently on his Mathematics Tour across India, Sheeran is performing in six cities: Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Shillong. His Hyderabad concert took place at Ramoji Film City on February 2, with Armaan Malik as the opening act.

Armaan Malik shares his excitement

Armaan took to Instagram to announce his performance, writing, “See you tonight, Hyderabad! Doing a special set for Ed in your beautiful city.”

Speaking about his approach to collaborations, Armaan said, “I love working with like-minded artists who share my energy. After our ‘2Step’ remix in 2022 and sharing the stage with Ed Sheeran last year, I had to bring something special to Hyderabad, a city that has always shown me so much love. It’s an absolute honor, and I can’t wait to step on that stage and make it an unforgettable night.”

A growing musical friendship

During Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour in India last year, the two artists caught up before his Mumbai concert, where Sheeran even danced to Armaan’s hit song Butta Bomma from the 2020 blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde.

Sheeran and Malik have previously collaborated on the Indian remix of Sheeran’s hit song “2Step”, further strengthening their artistic bond.
