Cardi B Welcomes Baby Girl, Describes Her as the ‘Prettiest Little Thing’
Cardi B has welcomed a baby girl with her estranged husband, Offset, more than a month after filing for divorce. The couple, already parents to 6-year-old Kulture and 2-year-old Wave, announced their new arrival with Cardi describing her as the “prettiest lil thing” in an Instagram post on September 12. The post featured photos from the hospital and noted the birth date as “9/7/24.”
The announcement came shortly after Cardi B revealed her pregnancy on August 1, just hours after filing for divorce from the 32-year-old rapper. In her Instagram post at the time, she expressed gratitude and empowerment, saying, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all!”
She continued, “You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and cannot wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do.”
Cardi B also reflected on the challenges of life and how her family has motivated her, stating, “You, your brother, and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
In her recent divorce filing, Cardi B has sought primary custody of their children and child support from Offset. The petition cited “irreconcilable differences” and a “breakdown of the marriage” with no prospect of reconciliation.
The couple, who married in 2017, have had a tumultuous relationship, including a brief split in 2018 amid cheating rumors, a reunion in 2019, another breakup in 2020, and a subsequent dismissal of divorce proceedings that year. By 2023, they had separated again, though they briefly reunited on New Year’s Eve in 2024.
Cardi B has since opened up about their complex relationship and the current status of their marriage.
