Mrunal Thakur is beyond grateful for being a David Dhawan heroine
Actress Mrunal Thakur is overjoyed and still processing the fact that she is starring in David Dhawan’s upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
Sharing her excitement, Mrunal posted on Instagram: “Still pinching myself! Guyssssss I’M DAVID DHAWAN’S HEROINE! I’m beyond grateful Sir.” She also posted a candid picture from the film’s shoot in Glasgow, where she is seen adorably resting her head on the legendary director’s shoulder as they both smile for the camera.
The film, currently being shot in Glasgow, welcomed actress Mouni Roy to the set on Saturday. Mouni, who plays a key role in the film, shared pictures with Mrunal and co-star Varun Dhawan, captioning it: “So glad to be on set with my beauty @mrunalthakur & the dapper @varundvn #HJTIHH”.
Backed by Ramesh Taurani’s TIPS banner, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai brings Varun Dhawan and his father David Dhawan back together on screen. The ensemble cast includes Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy, Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, Chunky Panday, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Kubbra Sait, Rakesh Bedi, Rohit Saraf, Rajeev Khandelwal, Nitish Nirmal, and Sreeleela.
Interestingly, the film’s title is inspired by a hit song from David Dhawan’s 1999 comedy Biwi No. 1, which featured Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen.
Earlier, the film’s team had shot key sequences in Rishikesh featuring Varun and Pooja before moving to Glasgow.
Beyond this film, Mrunal Thakur has an exciting slate ahead. She stars opposite Adivi Sesh in Shaneil Deo’s action drama Dacoit. She will also play the lead in Son of Sardaar 2 alongside Ajay Devgn and is set to appear in a romantic entertainer with Siddhant Chaturvedi.
