Anupam Kher thanks MP CM for making ‘Tanvi The Great’ tax-free

Veteran actor and filmmaker Anupam Kher has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for declaring his new film Tanvi The Great tax-free in the state after personally watching it in a Bhopal theatre.

Taking to Instagram, Kher posted a video of his meeting with the CM and shared a message in Hindi expressing appreciation for the support. He wrote, “It was a privilege to meet you at your residence in Bhopal, and a blessing that you came to the theatre to watch our film. You appreciated the film and its spirit, and announced it tax-free in Madhya Pradesh. This shows your commitment to social causes and your deep respect for the Indian Army.”

Kher highlighted that the CM’s gesture not only honors cinema but also supports themes of national pride and inclusivity. Tanvi The Great tells the inspiring story of a 21-year-old woman on the autism spectrum who, driven by her late father’s legacy in the Indian Army, dreams of saluting the tricolour at the Siachen Glacier.

The film features a stellar cast including Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser, and Anupam Kher himself, alongside Game of Thrones star Iain Glen. The music is composed by Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravani, with sound design by Resul Pookutty and cinematography by Japan’s Keiko Nakahara.

With the tax-free status in Madhya Pradesh, the makers hope more audiences will be encouraged to watch the film, which blends emotion, patriotism, and social awareness.
