Bhupendra Patel to lead Gujarat’s SWAGAT grievance redressal session on Thursday
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will preside over the upcoming State SWAGAT (State-Wide Attention on Grievances by Application of Technology) session on Thursday, reinforcing the government’s commitment to responsive governance.
The monthly SWAGAT programme, launched in 2003 by then CM Narendra Modi, allows citizens to directly present grievances to top state officials through an online, real-time system. Held every fourth Thursday, the initiative has become a cornerstone of Gujarat’s citizen-centric administration model.
This Thursday, CM Patel will personally hear select public complaints and direct state officials to take swift, result-oriented action. While the redressal platform operates online, citizens also have the option to submit complaints in person at the CM’s Public Relations Office at Swarnim Sankul-2, Gandhinagar, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on July 24.
The SWAGAT programme addresses issues ranging from land disputes to civic services, and has consistently received national recognition for enhancing administrative transparency and public trust.
In the May 2025 session, 90 grievances were presented at the state level, with 11 personally addressed by CM Patel. District and Taluka sessions processed an additional 4,720 complaints, with over 52% resolved on the spot. In June, 3,349 applications were received across levels, with 1,757 (50%) resolved, including 12 heard directly by the Chief Minister.
As the July session approaches, the state anticipates a large turnout, reflecting growing public reliance on the SWAGAT model for effective grievance redressal.
