BJP President Nadda Criticizes Dynastic Politics During Membership Drive in Bihar
During his two-day visit to Bihar, BJP National President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda took aim at other political parties, accusing them of prioritizing personal gain over public service. His remarks came as he participated in the BJP’s major membership drive, ‘Sangathan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024,’ on Saturday.
Nadda referenced historical instances, such as the Congress party’s resistance to BR Ambedkar’s Lok Sabha candidacies, and lauded the BJP for its commitment to celebrating Constitution Day on November 26.
He emphasized the BJP’s focus on marginalized communities, including Dalits, and highlighted the party’s efforts to integrate them into the government’s development schemes. Nadda also reiterated the party’s goal of renewing membership for 10 crore individuals.
In his address, Nadda underscored the BJP’s commitment to inclusivity, stating, “In our party, everyone has equal opportunity. No one is considered superior or inferior. In contrast, other parties often reserve leadership roles for specific families or castes.”
He further noted that the BJP is unique in requiring all its leaders, from the Prime Minister to local party officials, to renew their membership every six years. This practice, he said, exemplifies the party’s commitment to providing opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds, as demonstrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rise from humble beginnings.
Earlier in his visit, Nadda paid respects at the Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Gurudwara in Patna and inaugurated a state-of-the-art regional eye facility at IGIMS Patna, along with super-specialty hospitals in Bhagalpur and Gaya, enhancing Bihar’s healthcare infrastructure.
The BJP’s membership drive began on September 2, with Prime Minister Modi becoming the first member to join.
