India slams Pakistan at UN, calls it a failed state surviving on aid

India strongly criticized Pakistan at the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, calling it a “failed state thriving on international aid.”

Kshitij Tyagi, representing India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, dismissed Pakistan’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir as falsehoods propagated by its “military-terrorist complex.”

Reaffirming India’s stance, Tyagi stated, “The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. The region has witnessed unprecedented political, social, and economic progress in recent years, proving the people’s trust in the government’s commitment to restoring normalcy after decades of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”

He further criticized Pakistan for misusing international platforms, particularly the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as its propaganda tool. “Pakistan is making a mockery of the OIC by abusing it as its mouthpiece. It is unfortunate that this Council’s time continues to be wasted by a failed state that thrives on instability and survives on international handouts,” Tyagi said.

He urged Pakistan to focus on resolving its internal crises rather than its “unhealthy obsession with India.”

“India remains focused on democracy, progress, and ensuring dignity for its people—values that Pakistan would do well to learn from,” he added.

Tyagi’s remarks echoed those of India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, who on February 19 firmly rejected Pakistan’s misinformation campaign at the UN Security Council. Harish reaffirmed that “Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India.”
