Kanimozhi-led Indian delegation visits Spain, pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi
An Indian all-party parliamentary delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi began the final leg of its five-nation tour in Madrid, Spain, by paying tribute to a statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Indian Embassy in Spain shared that the visit began with a solemn ceremony to honour Gandhi’s enduring message of non-violence and peace. Following this, the delegation interacted with members of the Indian diaspora in Spain, reaffirming India’s united stance against terrorism and encouraging the community to support the nation’s global efforts for peace and justice.
The delegation includes MPs Rajeev Rai (SP), Captain Brijesh Chowta (BJP), Prem Chand Gupta (RJD), Ashok Kumar Mittal (AAP), and ambassadors Manjeev Singh Puri and Jawed Ashraf. They also met Arturo Fernandez Alvarez, a survivor of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, who joined them in denouncing terrorism.
The group will engage with Spanish government officials, lawmakers, and civil society to discuss Operation Sindoor and India’s economic and diplomatic priorities.
