
PM Modi praises Hardeep Singh Puri’s energy leadership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm birthday wishes to Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday, applauding his significant contributions to India’s energy sector.
In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, “On his birthday, my best wishes to Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri Ji. He made a mark as a respected diplomat and has now devoted himself to the world of politics and administration. He is at the forefront of making India a hub for petroleum and natural gas-related initiatives, which are very important in our quest for self-reliance. Praying for his long and healthy life.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his birthday wishes to Puri, commending his relentless efforts in advancing India’s energy security.

Hardeep Singh Puri: Driving India’s energy transformation
Hardeep Singh Puri, a former diplomat, has been instrumental in shaping India’s petroleum and natural gas policies. Under his leadership, India is working towards becoming a global energy hub, aligning with the government’s vision for self-reliance and energy security.
Puri was inducted into the Council of Ministers as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Urban Affairs in September 2017. In May 2019, he took on additional roles as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Civil Aviation and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry. Since July 2021, he has served as Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs & Petroleum and Natural Gas, playing a crucial role in India’s green energy transition and infrastructure development.
