PM Modi joins Trump-owned Truth Social
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday joined US President Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, after Trump shared a video link to Modi’s podcast with US-based podcaster and computer scientist Lex Fridman.
Responding to Trump’s post, PM Modi expressed gratitude and welcomed the opportunity to engage with users on the platform.
“Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come,” PM Modi posted on Truth Social.
He also thanked President Trump, saying, “Thank you, my friend, President Trump. I’ve covered a wide range of topics, including my life journey, India’s civilisational outlook, global issues, and more.”
This marks PM Modi’s debut on Truth Social, a platform frequently used by Trump. The Prime Minister’s presence on the platform reflects the growing rapport between the two leaders.
Trump’s post, which shared the three-hour podcast with Lex Fridman, was seen as a gesture of support for Modi. The podcast explores PM Modi’s life experiences, his outlook on global issues, and his personal reflections on his friendship with Trump.
During the conversation, PM Modi praised Trump’s “humility” and “resilience,” highlighting the American leader’s growth and confidence in his second term.
“Even after an assassination attempt during the presidential campaign last year, Trump showed no fear and remained unwaveringly dedicated to America,” Modi noted.
He also underscored their shared commitment to their countries, saying, “His life is for his nation. His America First spirit reflects my India First approach. That’s why we connect so well.”
The close relationship between the two leaders has been evident in recent months. They last met at the White House, where Trump referred to Modi as a “tough negotiator” during their friendly conversation.
