PM Modi on Operation Sindoor: Flawless military strike on terror camps

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Union Cabinet, where he briefed ministers on Operation Sindoor—a targeted tri-services military strike on nine terror camps across the border in the early hours of the day.

PM Modi told the Cabinet that the mission was executed exactly as planned, without any mistakes, and praised the armed forces for their precision, discipline, and professionalism.

“The Army executed the operation with utmost accuracy and in full adherence to detailed pre-planning,” the Prime Minister was quoted as saying by sources familiar with the meeting. He commended the military for a “commendable job” and the “immaculate execution” of the high-risk mission.

Cabinet ministers unanimously lauded the success of the operation and expressed full confidence in PM Modi’s leadership and the capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces. They reiterated that the entire nation stood united behind the Prime Minister and the military in the fight against terrorism.

The strikes specifically targeted terrorist launchpads, infiltration bases, and indoctrination centers in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), believed to be responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.

In a historic move, the Army, Navy, and Air Force worked in close coordination to carry out the early morning strikes between 1:05 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., acting on credible intelligence inputs. PM Modi personally monitored the overnight operation.

Significantly, two senior women officers of the Indian Armed Forces — Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh — joined Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at a press briefing on Wednesday to provide operational details.

They confirmed that the purpose of Operation Sindoor was to destroy the infrastructure supporting cross-border terrorism and to deliver a calibrated, measured response to the attack in Pahalgam. The codename “Sindoor” was chosen as a tribute to the women who lost their husbands in that tragic attack.

The officers also presented documented intelligence on the functioning of multiple terror hubs, revealing how the strikes successfully dismantled these threats.
