‘Aero India 2025’: Defence trade between India and US is deepening, says charge d’affaires

U.S. Embassy New Delhi Charge d’Affaires Jorgan K. Andrews inaugurated the U.S. Partnership Pavilion at Aero India 2025 on Monday, emphasizing the United States’ commitment to strengthening defence and security cooperation with India.

Growing defence partnership

“President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have discussed the importance of deepening defence trade between our nations. I am happy to report that from small start-ups to public sector undertakings and the expanding private defence sector, bilateral defence trade is deepening,” Andrews stated.

He highlighted that the U.S. defence industry is committed to working with India to provide high-quality, technologically advanced defence equipment and systems that are among the most operationally reliable in the world.

Andrews also noted that the United States is one of the largest international exhibitors at Aero India 2025, featuring leading American aerospace and defence firms showcasing next-generation aircraft, advanced avionics, unmanned systems, space technologies, and cutting-edge defence capabilities.

U.S. delegation at Aero India 2025

Throughout the event, U.S. government and industry representatives will focus on technology sharing, joint ventures, and industrial partnerships that support the U.S.-India Major Defence Partnership.

Andrews led a high-level U.S. delegation that included:

  • Chris Hodges, Consul General, U.S. Consulate General Chennai
  • Brigadier General Patrick Teague, Senior Defence Official and Defence Attaché, U.S. Embassy New Delhi
  • Major General Ricky Mills, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs

Peter McKenna, Vice President of Kallman Worldwide, represented the organization responsible for organizing the U.S. Pavilion at Aero India 2025 in collaboration with the U.S. Departments of Commerce and Defence.

Showcasing U.S. defence capabilities

Technical Sergeant Benjamin Huseby of the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific’s ensemble, Final Approach, performed the national anthems of India and the United States at the pavilion’s opening ceremony.

For the 15th time, the United States is participating in Aero India 2025, Asia’s premier aerospace and defence exhibition. The event highlights the strong and growing defence and aerospace partnership between the U.S. and India, reinforcing their shared commitment to regional security, stability, economic prosperity, and strategic investments.

More than two dozen American exhibitors will engage with Indian counterparts, explore new business opportunities, and showcase innovative solutions in aviation and defence. These companies will present advancements in:

  • Unmanned aerial systems (UAS)
  • Fighter aircraft
  • Advanced avionics
  • Defence electronics

The event underscores the deepening collaboration between India and the U.S. in the defence sector and sets the stage for future partnerships in aerospace technology and security.
