BJP is a Party of Terrorists, Claims Mallikarjun Kharge

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being a “party of terrorists,” alleging that its leaders are involved in lynching, sexual violence against tribals, and disrespecting Scheduled Castes.

Kharge made these remarks in response to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s comment suggesting that Congress supports “urban naxals.” He stated, “The BJP has always resorted to such tactics. They remained quiet for some time, but now, emboldened by their recent victory in Haryana, they’re back to making baseless allegations about urban naxals and intellectuals.”

Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kharge said the Prime Minister had “no right to criticize Congress” given the reported atrocities against Scheduled Castes in BJP-ruled states.

Discussing Congress’s performance in the recent Haryana Assembly elections, Kharge acknowledged the defeat, stating, “We are introspecting and will gather a report to understand what went wrong. Many expected Congress to win, and even BJP leaders believed they wouldn’t return to power.”

He added that while there was no alliance in Haryana, the INDIA bloc had contested in Jammu and Kashmir, and noted, “When you win, many take credit, but in defeat, criticism follows. We will address this situation collectively.”

On the issue of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, Kharge emphasized that the Bangladeshi government has a duty to protect minorities, including Hindus and Sikhs. “If they fail to do so, it could lead to issues in our neighboring countries,” he warned.

Last week, PM Modi had stated that “Urban Naxals” have infiltrated Congress.
