Haryana CM Meets PM Modi Following Poll Success

Following a strong performance in the Haryana Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in the capital on Wednesday.

This meeting is notable as Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced on Tuesday that the BJP has nominated Saini as the Chief Minister, pending final confirmation from the party’s parliamentary board.

Prime Minister Modi extended his congratulations to CM Saini on the election victory. He expressed gratitude to the people of Haryana, stating that their support for the BJP in securing a third consecutive term reflects a mandate for development and good governance.

The BJP won 48 seats in the 90-member Assembly, while Congress secured 37 seats.

In his address at the BJP headquarters, PM Modi remarked, “Truth has triumphed in the land of Gita. Development has won. Good governance has won. Voters from every caste and class supported us.” He emphasized that the people of Haryana have made history, noting that in 13 elections held to date, the state had traditionally seen government changes every five years. This time, however, the continuity of the ruling government marks a significant shift.

Modi also credited party workers for the BJP’s success, highlighting their hard work as crucial to the victory, which he attributed in part to the dedicated efforts of CM Nayab Singh Saini.

In response, CM Saini acknowledged PM Modi’s leadership as pivotal to their achievement, which defied both exit polls and expectations of anti-incumbency.
