Haryana CM Saini Retains Key Portfolios in New Government
In the newly formed Haryana government, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has retained crucial portfolios, including Home, Finance, and Excise and Taxation.
Alongside these, he will also oversee Town & Country Planning, Urban Estates, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture, Administration of Justice, General Administration, Criminal Investigation (C.I.D), Personnel & Training, and the Law and Legislative departments.
Anil Vij, a seven-time legislator and the senior-most member of the Cabinet, has been allocated the portfolios of Energy, Transport, and Labour. He previously served as the Home and Health & Family Welfare Minister under former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
First-time legislator Shruti Choudhry has been assigned Women and Child Development, as well as Irrigation and Water Resources. Another debutante, Arti Singh Rao, will handle Health, Medical Education and Research, and Ayush.
Rao Narbir Singh will oversee Industries and Commerce, Environment, Forests and Wildlife, while Mahipal Dhanda has been given responsibility for the School and Higher Education Departments.
Vipul Goel will manage Revenue, Disaster Management, Urban Local Bodies, and Civil Aviation, while Arvind Sharma takes charge of Jails and Cooperation. Shyam Singh Rana will lead the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.
Ranbir Gangwa will handle Public Health Engineering, and Krishan Kumar Bedi has been assigned Social Justice, Empowerment, and Welfare for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. Krishan Lal Panwar will manage Development and Panchayats, as well as Mines and Geology.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) Rajesh Nagar will oversee Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, while Minister of State Gaurav Gautam (Independent Charge) will handle Youth Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, and Sports.
On Sunday, Chief Minister Saini reviewed development projects with officials from the Urban Local Bodies and Development and Panchayats Departments, emphasizing public welfare. He announced the initiation of ‘Samadhan shivirs’ in municipal bodies starting October 22, where officers will be available to address public concerns from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Saini, who took office on October 17 alongside 13 Cabinet members, pledged to serve the 2.8 crore people of Haryana. The BJP has formed the government for a record third consecutive term, overcoming a decade of anti-incumbency. Saini, a non-Jat leader from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), took his oath as Chief Minister for the second time in a ceremony attended by several NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
