Rising incidents of missing baggage at Delhi airport

Cases of missing baggage at Indira Gandhi International Airport are increasing, leaving passengers frustrated. Many travelers have accused airlines of mishandling luggage, with assurances from airline officials proving to be ineffective.

Recently, Bharat Bhushan, a resident of Punjab who returned from Phuket to Delhi, exposed a major airline scam involving airport authorities and airline officials. The latest incident involves passengers returning from Phuket, whose 54 bags failed to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Bharat Bhushan revealed that on February 25, a group of 25 passengers traveled to Phuket and returned to Delhi on March 1 via IndiGo flight 6E 1082. The flight had approximately 180 passengers. However, upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, when passengers proceeded to the conveyor belt to collect their luggage, they found that 54 bags were missing.

Upon questioning, airline officials informed the passengers that due to space constraints, their bags were left behind in Phuket. Bharat Bhushan, a passenger on the flight, has provided supporting evidence, including his visa and flight ticket. This incident has also been reported in Punjab Kesari.

Passengers raised concerns, questioning why 54 bags were left behind when each of the 180 travelers was permitted to carry 20 kg of luggage. They suspect that airlines may be deliberately leaving behind baggage and subsequently misplacing it fraudulently.

One family reportedly lost all four of their bags, including their house keys. The most shocking revelation was that when passengers confronted airport duty officials, one missing bag was suddenly produced, with claims that it had been left at the gate. This contradiction raised further suspicion, as the airline had earlier stated that all missing baggage was left in Phuket.

Bharat Bhushan emphasized that this incident proves airlines are deliberately mishandling passenger luggage. Travelers are now demanding stricter regulations and accountability to prevent such fraudulent practices.
