PM Modi makes ‘roti, beti, maati’ pitch in J’khand; says this election will mark ouster of JMM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the BJP’s mega poll blitz in Jharkhand on Monday and launched a blistering attack on the Hemant Soren government, accusing it of “stymying” the development of the tribal state.
Addressing a rally in the Garhwa region, PM Modi stated that the upcoming election will mark the ouster of the JMM government and expressed confidence that the BJP would form the next double-engine government in the state.
He urged party workers and volunteers to strive hard to empower the party, even at the booth level, to ensure BJP’s victory in the Assembly elections.
“Today, one slogan is reverberating across the state – ‘roti, beti and maati’ ki pukaar,” PM Modi said.
He outlined the next two decades as crucial for both the state and the country, asserting that Jharkhand will play a vital role in realizing the goal of Viksit Bharat.
Highlighting the BJP’s commitment to Jharkhand’s development, PM Modi noted that the party laid the foundation for a separate state to accelerate growth and ensure prosperity for its people.
“It’s the Hemant government that is putting impediments in the path of development,” he added.
The Prime Minister praised the BJP’s Sankalp Patra for Jharkhand, emphasizing that the welfare and security of women are top priorities for the party.
Discussing proposed schemes for Jharkhand, such as the Gogo Didi Yojana (providing Rs 2,100 monthly for women) and gas cylinders at Rs 500, he stated that these initiatives will empower women in the state, similar to the Centre’s flagship Ujjwala Yojana.
He also criticized the INDIA bloc parties, accusing them of betraying the people with false promises.
“BJP has a track record of fulfilling its guarantees, while JMM, Congress, and others are a bunch of liars deceiving people with false promises,” he said, amid loud chants from the crowd.
He further remarked, “They can announce a multitude of schemes but can never match the honesty and integrity of the BJP government.”
The Prime Minister concluded by extending Chhath greetings to the people of Jharkhand as they begin preparations for the four-day festival.
