Agra-born Arvinder Bahal to fly on Blue Origin’s next space mission
Arvinder Singh Bahal, an Indian-origin real estate investor born in Agra, is set to fly to the edge of space aboard Blue Origin’s next suborbital mission. Now a naturalized U.S. citizen, Bahal will be part of the six-member crew on Blue Origin’s 14th human flight using the New Shepard rocket.
Known for his adventurous spirit, Bahal has traveled to every country in the world, reached both the North and South Poles, and skydived over Mount Everest and the Pyramids of Giza. A certified private pilot and helicopter flyer, he continues to push the boundaries of exploration.
The upcoming 11-minute flight will take the crew to the Kármán line, the internationally recognized edge of space. Alongside Bahal, the crew includes Turkish businessman Gökhan Erdem, Puerto Rican meteorologist Deborah Martorell, British educator Lionel Pitchford, American entrepreneur J.D. Russell, and H.E. Justin Sun, the crypto entrepreneur who won Blue Origin’s first New Shepard seat in 2021.
In a statement, Blue Origin highlighted Bahal’s adventurous achievements and described the crew as a diverse group of global citizens passionate about science, travel, and space.
The flight will mark Blue Origin’s 34th mission overall and its fifth human flight of 2025. While the official launch date has yet to be confirmed, excitement continues to grow as Bahal prepares to become one of the few Indians to journey to space.
To date, Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket has taken 70 people beyond the Kármán line.
