Baloch activist slams Trump for empowering Pakistan with mineral deal

Prominent Baloch human rights activist Mir Yar Baloch has strongly criticized US President Donald Trump, accusing him of “gambling with peace” by considering a deal that would give Pakistan access to Balochistan’s trillion-dollar mineral and rare earth wealth.

Mir argued that entrusting Pakistan with such vast resources would embolden its extremist agenda and accelerate radicalization. He warned that Pakistan’s religious radicals could soon attempt to “export their brand of Sharia even to the United States.”

The activist said signs of this were already visible in Europe and beyond, where extremism often traces back to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). His remarks followed comments by Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir, who recently claimed that the country’s rare earth reserves could transform its economy.

“The 60 million people of Balochistan once again remind Pakistan and the international community that our mineral wealth does not belong to an artificial state created just 77 years ago. It is the rightful inheritance of the Baloch nation, whose history spans 10,000 years,” Mir posted on X.

He accused Pakistan of unlawfully seizing Balochistan’s resources, mortgaging them to secure loans from institutions such as the IMF and World Bank. Such misrepresentation, he said, violates international law.

Mir also slammed Pakistan’s military establishment for supporting global terrorists like Osama Bin Laden, harboring him for nearly a decade despite his role in the 9/11 attacks. He alleged ISI involvement in atrocities across South Asia, from the genocide of Bengalis in 1971 to the ongoing oppression of Baloch people.

He declared that a true Nobel Peace Prize for any American leader would only be justified if the US formally recognized Pakistan as a terrorist state and held its generals accountable for sponsoring global terror.
