Baloch activist slams Pakistan’s Army Rocket Force Command as ‘sham and empty bluster’

Baloch human rights activist Mir Yar Baloch has sharply criticized Pakistan’s newly unveiled Army Rocket Force Command (ARFC), dismissing it as “a sham and empty bluster” fueled by Balochistan’s plundered resources.

In a statement on X, Mir said Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was merely reading from a script written by the military during the August 14 ceremony. “The generals’ expressions revealed that the so-called ARFC is nothing but hollow propaganda,” he noted.

The activist accused Pakistan of funding its military operations through the exploitation of Balochistan’s mineral wealth. He warned that the province would no longer allow its resources to be used to sustain Pakistan’s military ambitions. “The ARFC dream is powered by Balochistan’s resources, and we are ready to cut off that supply,” he declared.

Mir Yar Baloch further asserted that Pakistan’s military hardware is faltering, claiming its tanks are running out of fuel, missiles are near expiration, and its aircraft will not be allowed into Balochistan’s skies. He said Balochistan’s people are determined to safeguard their own future, emphasizing that peace and security in the region must now be managed by Balochistan itself.

Appealing to the global community, Mir called it the “moral, political, and diplomatic duty” of friendly nations to support Balochistan’s defensive capabilities and prevent Pakistan’s military, which he described as a “mercenary force of an artificial state,” from destabilizing the region further.

Baloch groups have long accused Pakistani forces of committing widespread human rights abuses in the province, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, fabricated police cases, and violent raids on civilian homes. Activists continue to demand international attention to end what they describe as systemic repression and exploitation in Balochistan.
