Delhi Congress Chief Slams Kejriwal for “Betrayal” and “Drama”

Devender Yadav, President of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for “betraying” the people of Delhi and for his recent ‘Janata ki Adalat’ initiative, stating that the public is no longer fooled by his theatrics.

In an interview with IANS, Yadav remarked, “Mr. Kejriwal, the people of Delhi know you well now. You have been exposed for your betrayal.” He pointed out that despite being elected as Chief Minister three times, Kejriwal failed to fulfill his promises and frequently reversed his decisions.

Yadav recalled that prior to taking office, Kejriwal had claimed to possess evidence against then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and her ministers but later had to apologize to her in court.

He asserted, “Kejriwal and his ministers have served jail sentences for corruption. The public will not be swayed by his drama anymore.” Criticizing Kejriwal over the excise policy case, Yadav noted that a court had restricted him from signing official documents, emphasizing that the Supreme Court’s actions indicated Kejriwal’s involvement in corruption.

In contrast, AAP held its ‘Janata Ki Adalat’ event at Jantar Mantar, where Kejriwal accused the BJP of targeting his party leaders. He reflected on the anti-corruption movement that began on April 4, 2011, and defended his administration’s record, highlighting achievements such as free electricity, water, and improved public services.

Kejriwal claimed, “For 10 years, we worked with integrity, which led Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch attacks on us. Our ministers and leaders have been selectively imprisoned as part of this campaign.”
