Delhi LG slams Kejriwal, says public has answered AAP

Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) V.K. Saxena launched a scathing attack on AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, stating that the people of Delhi have responded strongly to his past remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to reporters at the Delhi Assembly, Saxena remarked, “Arvind Kejriwal has often made negative comments about the Prime Minister. He even said that if PM Modi wants to win the Delhi elections, he will have to take another birth.”

The LG further stated, “Whenever someone tries to undermine another person, the response ultimately comes from the people.”

Kejriwal’s Leadership Questioned

Referring to Kejriwal’s comments when AAP leader Atishi was sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister, Saxena noted, “Kejriwal said Atishi was made a ‘temporary Chief Minister’ and that he would return later.”

He added, “I don’t want to comment much, but the Supreme Court had already restricted him from going to the Secretariat or signing official files. The people have now given their mandate, and that speaks for itself.”

Focus on Delhi’s Development

Reiterating the BJP-led government’s commitment to development, Saxena said, “Our priority is clear — we want to develop Delhi, clean the Yamuna, resolve the landfill crisis, and provide better facilities for the underprivileged.”

During his address to the Assembly, he emphasized the ‘Viksit Delhi’ vision as the guiding principle of the new administration, pledging a corruption-free government aligned with PM Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, aur Sabka Samman.”

Saxena also criticized the previous AAP-led government, accusing it of obstructing debates in the House and using the Assembly as a platform to attack constitutional authorities.

AAP MLAs Suspended Amid Assembly Drama

Following Saxena’s speech, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta tabled the CAG report, which sparked a discussion among legislators as part of the Vote of Thanks on the LG’s address.

Meanwhile, the Assembly witnessed high drama as 21 AAP MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Atishi, were suspended for unruly behavior during the LG’s address.

The ongoing three-day Delhi Assembly session, which began on Monday with the swearing-in of newly elected MLAs and the nomination of the House Speaker and Deputy Speaker, is set to conclude on Thursday.
