Delhi Capitals have confirmed the return of vice-captain Faf du Plessis and middle-order batter Tristan Stubbs ahead of the resumption of IPL 2025.

However, the team will be without Mitchell Starc and Donovan Ferreira, who remain unavailable. The franchise extended its support and best wishes to both players.

To cover Starc’s absence and the unexpected departure of explosive opener Jake Fraser-McGurk due to personal reasons, Delhi have signed Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman.

Fraser-McGurk, a breakout star of IPL 2024 known for his 15-ball fifty, had quickly become a fan favorite. His absence is a blow, but Mustafizur’s return boosts Delhi’s bowling lineup.

Mustafizur, who previously played for DC in 2022 and 2023, brings experience with 61 wickets in 57 IPL matches at an economy of 8.14.

Delhi Capitals currently sit fifth on the table with 13 points from 11 games. They must win their remaining three matches to secure a playoff spot.

The team next faces Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
