Following ‘Successful’ US Trip, PM Modi to Address Rally in Gohana, Haryana Today
Following his three-day ‘successful’ trip to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to return to the campaign trail in Haryana, where Assembly elections are scheduled for October 5.
Modi will hold his second public meeting in the state today, aiming to rally support from voters across 22 Assembly constituencies. The BJP is keen to make this event a resounding success with a record turnout. The rally will take place in Gohana, Sonipat district.
Organizers reported that preparations are in full swing, with a special aluminum ‘pandal’ constructed for the event. Three helipads have been set up nearby, and rehearsals for helicopter takeoffs and landings were conducted on Monday.
Several senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, will join the Prime Minister on stage, alongside local BJP candidates. The rally is expected to draw tens of thousands of attendees.
This event is deemed crucial, as it targets voters from 22 Assembly constituencies—18 from the Sonipat and Rohtak Lok Sabha constituencies, and four from Panipat district. In light of the rally, the district administration has diverted several traffic routes to minimize public inconvenience, and buildings in the vicinity have been vacated and placed under police watch.
BJP district president Jasbir Dodwa called the rally historic. Modi previously launched the BJP’s campaign at a rally in Kurukshetra on September 15, seeking votes for 23 candidates from districts along the GT Road belt, including Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, and Panipat.
Polling for Haryana’s 90-member Legislative Assembly is set for October 5, with vote counting scheduled for October 8.
