Hezbollah Claims Responsibility for Drone Attack on Netanyahu’s House, Rejects Negotiations with Israel
Hezbollah has claimed full responsibility for a recent drone attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea, Israel.
At a press conference in Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut, Mohammad Afif, head of Hezbollah’s media office, stated, “The Islamic Resistance claims responsibility for targeting Netanyahu’s home.” He emphasized that there will be no negotiations with Israel while hostilities continue. “If our hands did not reach you before, then days, nights, and the battlefield remain between us,” he added, vowing continued attacks on northern Israel.
Afif also accused the United States of being complicit in Israel’s “aggression” against Lebanon by supplying Israeli forces with weaponry.
Israel has confirmed that an explosive drone launched by Hezbollah damaged Netanyahu’s residence. Military sources revealed that the drone struck a bedroom wall, causing visible fire damage and destruction to a window and two palm trees outside. The drone was one of three launched from Lebanon, targeting the Prime Minister’s residence, and although three combat helicopters attempted to intercept them, only two were successfully neutralized by the Iron Dome system. The third drone managed to hit the bedroom wall.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, neither Netanyahu nor his wife were at home during the attack.
During the same briefing, Afif criticized Israel’s bombing of Al Qard Al Hassan, a financial institution affiliated with Hezbollah, labeling it “unjustified.” He denied Israeli claims that the institution was linked to Hezbollah, asserting that it operates as a lawful civil entity serving all Lebanese citizens. He argued that Israel’s actions aimed to undermine trust between Hezbollah and its community.
On Sunday evening, Israeli warplanes targeted branches of Al Qard Al Hassan, issuing a prior warning on social media for civilians to stay at least 500 meters away from its locations.
