India and Greece strengthen ties with focus on trade, connectivity, and AI

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis in New Delhi to discuss strengthening bilateral ties across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, connectivity, culture, mobility, and artificial intelligence.

Jaishankar emphasized the importance of the India-Middle East Economic Corridor (IMEC) and the India-Mediterranean Connect as key elements of future India-Greece relations. He also assured India’s full support for Greece’s non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2025-26.

Gerapetritis highlighted the rapid growth of India-Greece relations and expressed Greece’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in tourism, culture, and trade. He also affirmed Greece’s role as a strong partner for India within the European Union and the United Nations.

The visit is expected to further boost diplomatic and strategic ties between the two nations, expanding collaboration in economic and geopolitical areas.
