India and US discuss deepening defense ties ahead of PM Modi’s visit
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh spoke with US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to congratulate him on his confirmation and discuss strengthening India-US defense cooperation.

Their discussion comes just days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Washington, where he will meet President Donald Trump. The visit is expected to launch new defense and technology initiatives, further solidifying the India-US partnership.
Over the past decade, defense ties between the two nations have strengthened, with initiatives such as the India-US Defence Acceleration Ecosystem (INDUS-X) and the US-India Roadmap for Defence Industrial Cooperation. More key announcements are anticipated during Modi’s visit.
