India Women’s League Second Season to Kick Off in January 2025

The Indian Women’s League (IWL) is set to return for its second season in a home-and-away format, beginning on January 10, 2025.

This season will see an expansion to eight teams, including last season’s champions Sreebhumi FC from West Bengal and runners-up NITA Football Academy from Odisha as new entrants.

The league will kick off with a double-header on January 10. Defending champions Odisha FC will face East Bengal FC at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar at 3 PM IST, followed by a match between Gokulam Kerala FC and Sreebhumi FC at Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri at 4 PM IST.

Teams will compete for the title over a packed season, traveling to major cities such as Kolkata, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Chennai, and Bhubaneswar throughout the three-month tournament.

Originally scheduled to start in October 2024, the season was postponed to January next year.
