EAM Jaishankar, Israeli FM Gideon Sa’ar reaffirm strategic partnership, joint fight against terrorism

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar in New Delhi on Tuesday to strengthen the India–Israel Strategic Partnership and discuss regional developments, including the Gaza Peace Plan.

In a post on X, Jaishankar said the talks were “productive” and reaffirmed India’s “zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms.” Both ministers exchanged views on multilateral cooperation and witnessed the signing of an MoU on training between the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service and Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sa’ar thanked Jaishankar for his hospitality, noting that discussions covered bilateral cooperation and “the mutual threat of terror.” He emphasized that dismantling Hamas remains central to the Trump Peace Plan and that Israel “will not compromise on it.”

Jaishankar underlined that India and Israel “face a particular challenge from terrorism” and share a relationship “with a very high degree of trust and reliability.” He stressed the importance of a global zero-tolerance approach toward terrorism.

Sa’ar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s early show of solidarity after the Hamas attacks on October 7, describing India as “the world’s largest democracy and fastest-growing economy” and “a global superpower.” He said Israel seeks to deepen its long-term strategic partnership with India, built on shared values and mutual security priorities.

He also condemned the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, saying radical terror remains a “mutual threat” to both nations.
