Kejriwal Vacates Official Residence, Moves to New Home on Ferozeshah Road

New Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS) Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and former Chief Minister of Delhi, vacated his official residence on Friday, relocating to a government residence on Ferozeshah Road in Lutyens’ Delhi.

Prior to the move, a formal prayer ceremony was held at the new residence, which is situated near the AAP headquarters and has been allotted to Ashok Mittal, AAP’s Rajya Sabha member from Punjab.

Kejriwal had been residing in a bungalow in Civil Lines, allocated to him during his tenure as Chief Minister. AAP leaders confirmed that he, along with his family, moved out of the official residence on Friday, taking all their belongings with them.

The new government house, typically reserved for Members of Parliament, is also conveniently located close to his constituency in New Delhi. Kejriwal will remain there until the conclusion of the Delhi Assembly elections.

Following his release from jail related to the Delhi Liquor Policy case, Kejriwal announced his resignation, citing the need to clear his name of the allegations against him. He expressed his intent to seek the public’s judgment on his integrity.

After deciding to leave his official residence, Kejriwal’s search for a new home began, with numerous leaders, councillors, and citizens offering their residences. The search concluded when AAP MP Ashok Mittal offered his government-allotted home.
