Masood Azhar’s women brigade: JeM’s new terror strategy

In a disturbing new development, Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar has launched the group’s first-ever women’s wing, ‘Jamat-ul-Mominat’, with promises of paradise for those who join his jihad campaign.

In a 21-minute audio speech delivered at Markaz Usman o Ali in Bahawalpur, Azhar outlined detailed plans to recruit, indoctrinate, and train women for “global jihad”. He said the new recruits would undergo a 15-day induction course called Daura-e-Taskiya, similar to the male training module Daura-e-Tarbiat.

Azhar declared that women completing this training “will go straight to paradise after death.” He also announced a second-level program, Daura-Ayat-ul-Nisah, which teaches female jihadists how Islamic texts “instruct women to conduct jihad.”

The new women’s wing will be led by Azhar’s sister, Sadiya Azhar, assisted by other female relatives of slain JeM militants, including Samaira Azhar and Afeera Farooq. Sources say they are conducting online indoctrination sessions to motivate and recruit women across Pakistan.

Azhar said each district would have its own Muntazima (female chief) responsible for enrolling women, adding that they must maintain strict isolation from unrelated men.

This move comes months after India’s Operation Sindoor, which killed several members of Azhar’s family. Experts believe the formation of Jamat-ul-Mominat marks JeM’s strategic shift towards using female suicide bombers, following the tactics of ISIS and Boko Haram.
