Netanyahu accuses Iran of plotting to assassinate Trump over nuclear stance

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has alleged that Iran plotted to assassinate U.S. President Donald Trump due to his firm opposition to its nuclear ambitions.

Speaking to Fox News, Netanyahu claimed Iran views Trump as “enemy number one” because of his tough stance on Tehran. “They want to kill him. He’s a decisive leader who didn’t fall for weak deals. He killed Qasem Soleimani and made it clear: no nuclear weapons for Iran,” Netanyahu said.

The Israeli leader praised Trump’s withdrawal from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and his authorization of Soleimani’s killing, calling it a critical blow to Tehran’s regional influence.

Netanyahu also claimed that he had personally been targeted by Iran, saying, “They fired a missile right into the bedroom window of my home,” and described himself as Trump’s “junior partner” in efforts to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

He warned that Iran poses an imminent threat to Israel, citing its growing ballistic missile arsenal and alleged plans to build thousands of nuclear-capable missiles. “No country can sustain that, especially not one the size of Israel. We had to act,” Netanyahu said.

He defended Israel’s recent military campaign, dubbed Operation Rising Lion, which he claimed has significantly disrupted Iran’s nuclear progress. “Diplomacy has failed. We had no choice,” he added.

Netanyahu also addressed the Iranian people, expressing sympathy for their suffering under the regime. He framed Israel’s military actions as necessary for global security.

Iran, for its part, responded with a wave of ballistic missile attacks on Israeli cities, most of which were intercepted.
