Palestinian teen killed by Israeli army in West Bank: Health Ministry

A 14-year-old Palestinian boy was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the town of Arraba in the northern West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The victim was identified as Ibrahim Imad Ahmed Mahmoud Hamran, and no clashes were reported at the time of the incident.

Local official Khalil al-Arda said the teen was hit by direct gunfire and described the killing as part of “a growing trend of excessive use of force” by the Israeli military across the West Bank. The Israeli army has yet to comment on the incident.

Tensions in the occupied West Bank have sharply escalated since October 7, 2023, when Israel launched intensified military operations across Palestinian territories. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, at least 947 Palestinians, including over 200 children, have been killed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as of June 12, 2025.

In related incidents, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that a 16-year-old boy was wounded during clashes with Israeli troops in Al-Ain refugee camp, west of Nablus. Another Palestinian was also injured in the leg by Israeli fire in the same camp, according to official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Since the start of Israel’s war in Gaza in late 2023, nearly 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 7,000 injured in the West Bank, often in operations involving Israeli soldiers and settlers.

Separately, Israeli police reported that Shalev Zvuluny, a 22-year-old security guard, was killed on Thursday in a stabbing and shooting attack in Gush Etzion settlement. The two Palestinian assailants were shot dead at the scene.
