Panic grips Noida schools after receiving bomb threats

Panic gripped parents, teachers, and students after four private schools in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida received bomb threats on Wednesday.

The bomb threat was sent via email to Step by Step School, The Heritage School, Gyanshree School, and Mayur School, prompting the school administrations to alert the district administration and police.

Immediately after receiving the information, a UP Police team, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), fire brigade, and dog squad were dispatched to investigate the schools.

The police stated that there was no cause for concern, as investigations revealed that the situation was normal in all the schools, and classes resumed in many of them.

Authorities appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumors and to remain patient.

As a precautionary measure, police teams, along with the bomb squad, reached the schools after receiving the threat information.

The email is being investigated by the cyber team to determine the source of the threat. The cyber cell is actively trying to trace the individuals responsible for sending such emails.

Last year, several schools in Delhi, Noida, and other areas of NCR also received similar threatening emails, leading to students being sent home.

In November, the Delhi High Court instructed the government to develop a comprehensive action plan, including a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), to address bomb threats and related emergencies.

The Delhi HC emphasized that while a foolproof system may not be possible, authorities must be prepared to handle evolving challenges, especially in the digital age, where anonymity emboldens perpetrators.
