PM Modi seeks forgiveness for Maha Kumbh 2025 shortcomings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday sought forgiveness for any shortcomings in the organization of Maha Kumbh 2025. In a heartfelt blog post, he expressed his deep respect for the devotees and the sacred rivers, praying for their pardon if any lapses occurred.

“I know organizing such a huge event was not easy. I pray to Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, Maa Saraswati… O Maa, if we have fallen short in our worship, please forgive us. If we have fallen short in serving the devotees, who are God to me, I seek forgiveness from the people as well,” PM Modi wrote in Hindi.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the purity and cleanliness of India’s rivers, emphasizing the importance of preserving them for future generations. “At the confluence of Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati in Prayagraj, my resolve has become stronger. Whether a river is small or big, we must see it as a life-giving mother and work to keep it clean,” he said.

Praising the successful completion of Maha Kumbh 2025, the Prime Minister urged the nation to channel the same spirit of unity towards building a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). “Just as every devotee—rich or poor, young or old, from all parts of the country—came together in Maha Kumbh, we must unite for the Maha Yagya of a Viksit Bharat,” he added.

PM Modi also commended the relentless efforts of the central and state governments, as well as the people of Prayagraj, in making the grand event a success. He called Maha Kumbh 2025 a historic occasion that strengthened India’s cultural and spiritual identity.
