Operation Sindoor gave Pakistan a heavy ‘dose’: Rajnath Singh
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that Pakistan has received a “heavy dose” under Operation Sindoor, warning that any future misadventure would meet with an even stronger response.
Addressing the Army Commanders’ Conference in Jaisalmer — held near the India-Pakistan border for the first time since Operation Sindoor — Singh said, “Though Pakistan has been delivered a heavy dose, if it still thinks of creating trouble, it should think 100 times before doing so.” He clarified that the operation has only been suspended, not ended, and that India remains fully prepared for any situation.
Referring to an anecdote from the Ramayana, Singh praised the precision and efficiency of Indian pilots, saying they “tested the winds” during the operation and yet managed to crush their targets within minutes. “If our pilots get down to the real act, Pakistan can only imagine the outcome,” he added.
The Defence Minister also emphasized the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and developing border areas. “As development activities increase, the people and the armed forces in these regions will both benefit,” he said.
He urged commanders to remain vigilant against both external and internal threats and reiterated that the armed forces will play a pivotal role in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat@2047. “On one hand, you have to guard our borders, and on the other, help build a developed India,” Singh said.
Singh is on a three-day visit to Jaisalmer, where the conference brings together top Army officials to discuss border security, modern warfare, and technological upgrades. On Friday, he will visit the Longewala border post to pay tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
