Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, leading India’s all-party delegation in Brazil, said the group’s upcoming visit to Washington will be vital in tackling misinformation and competing narratives around Operation Sindoor.

Tharoor emphasized the need to clarify India’s position, especially as claims persist — including by former U.S. President Donald Trump — about the U.S. brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, which New Delhi denies.

“We have quite a lot of work to do in Washington,” Tharoor said, noting plans to engage U.S. lawmakers, officials, think tanks, and media. He also stressed that dialogue is impossible with nations supporting cross-border terrorism and called for dismantling terror infrastructure before any talks.
