Trump condemns killing of Israeli embassy staffers in DC, calls it anti-Semitic act

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday night strongly condemned the killing of two Israeli Embassy staff members in a shooting incident outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., calling it an act of anti-Semitism.

According to US Homeland Security, a male and a female employee of the Israeli Embassy were gunned down by an unidentified assailant as they exited the museum. Authorities confirmed their deaths and have launched a multi-agency investigation, treating the case as a hate crime driven by anti-Semitism.

“These horrible DC killings, based obviously on anti-Semitism, must end, now! Hatred and radicalism have no place in the USA,” Trump said on Truth Social. “Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen! God bless you all!”

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the attack “a brazen act of cowardly, anti-Semitic violence” and vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

Mike Huckabee, US Ambassador to Israel, called it a “horrific act of terror,” while Attorney General Pam Bondi was reported to have visited the scene shortly after the incident.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon denounced the attack as “a depraved act of anti-Semitic terrorism” and emphasized that targeting Jewish communities “crosses a red line.” He expressed confidence in US authorities and reiterated Israel’s commitment to protecting its citizens and representatives worldwide.

Tal Naim Cohen, spokesperson for the Israeli Embassy in Washington, voiced faith in US law enforcement to apprehend the attacker and ensure the safety of Israeli diplomats and Jewish communities in the country.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that his office is collaborating closely with the Metropolitan Police Department. “Please pray for the victims and their families. We will keep the public updated,” he said.

The American Jewish Committee (AJC), which hosted an event at the museum that evening, also released a statement expressing devastation. “Our attention and our hearts are solely with those who were harmed and their families,” the AJC said.
