Trump Praises PM Modi as a “Total Killer” in Dealing with Adversaries
Former US President Donald Trump recently described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “total killer” when it comes to handling India’s adversaries, noting that Modi declined offers of assistance from the US during times of threat.
In a podcast interview on Flagrant, Trump stated, “He’s great, he’s a friend of mine, but on the outside, he looks like your father. Yet, he’s the nicest, total killer.” He recalled instances when he offered to help India in the face of threats, but PM Modi insisted, “I will do it, and I will do anything necessary. We’ve defeated them for hundreds of years.”
Trump shared this insight while imitating Modi’s tough demeanor, hinting at a specific country involved in the threats but leaving it unspecified. He referenced two major confrontations during his presidency: tensions with Pakistan and China.
Trump reminisced about the 2019 Pulwama attack, which led to India’s airstrike on terror camps in Balakot, and the 2020 clash in Galwan Valley between Indian and Chinese troops. He characterized his relationship with PM Modi as strong, stating, “We have a very good relationship. He’s the nicest human being.”
During the podcast, Trump discussed his ability to gauge world leaders, describing Modi as one of the tougher leaders, alongside China’s Xi Jinping. He also commented on French President Emmanuel Macron, praising his commitment to France while disparaging current President Joe Biden as lacking the capability to match up to other leaders.
As the presidential election approaches, both Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris have been engaging with alternative media platforms to connect with younger audiences. In a lighthearted segment, Trump referred to PM Modi as “the nicest Indian,” prompting a cautious response from host Aakash Singh, who noted his family’s connections to both India and the US.
Reflecting on Modi’s leadership, Trump claimed that India was unstable before Modi’s tenure, despite the fact that Manmohan Singh led the country for a decade prior without interruption. He fondly remembered the “Howdy Modi” event in Houston in 2020, where they drew a crowd of around 80,000.
With a touch of nostalgia for less restricted times, Trump noted, “We’re walking around, waving to everybody,” contrasting it with the heightened security measures he now faces following two assassination attempts.
