Bangladesh to tour Sri Lanka for Test, ODI, and T20 series
Bangladesh are all set to tour Sri Lanka for a full-fledged men’s series in June, marking their first tour to the island nation in four years. The series will comprise two Tests, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
The last time Bangladesh toured Sri Lanka was in April-May 2021, where they lost the Test series 1-0. The upcoming tour marks the beginning of the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for both teams.
The Test matches will be played from June 17 to 21 in Galle and from June 25 to 29 in Colombo. The ODI series will follow on July 2, 5, and 8, with the first two matches scheduled in Colombo and the third in Pallekele. The tour will conclude with T20Is on July 10, 13, and 16, to be held in Pallekele, Dambulla, and Colombo, respectively.
Before their Sri Lanka tour, Bangladesh will play a two-match T20I series against the UAE in Sharjah and a five-match T20I series in Pakistan from May 27 to June 3. Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das will lead the side during these matches.
Recently, Bangladesh drew a Test series 1-1 against Zimbabwe at home, with standout performances from spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who claimed three five-wicket hauls.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, last faced Australia in February, where they lost the Test series 2-0 but won the ODI series 2-0.
