Golf: Hitaashee Aims for Comeback as Vidhatri Seeks Fourth Win in WPGT Leg 13
In the upcoming Leg 13 of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT), golfer Hitaashee seeks to make a strong comeback, while Vidhatri aims for her fourth victory. With both players in top form, the tournament promises to be highly competitive as they vie for the title and valuable ranking points. Fans can expect an exciting showdown as Hitaashee looks to regain her footing and Vidhatri strives to continue her winning streak.
Hitaashee Bakshi, fresh off a playoff loss in the previous leg, is determined to bounce back in the 13th Leg of the Women’s Professional Golf Tour (WPGT) at Golden Greens Golf Club this week. After winning twice this season, Hitaashee fell short against Vani Kapoor at DLF Golf and Country Club.
Meanwhile, Vidhatri Urs, a three-time winner this season, is on the hunt for her fourth title after finishing third last week.
In this leg, Hitaashee will face stiff competition from Vidhatri and other top players, including Gaurika Bishnoi, Ridhima Dilawari, Amandeep Drall, Neha Tripathi, Sneha Singh, Shweta Mansingh, and Seher Atwal. The tournament features a prize pool of Rs. 14 lakh and includes 41 participants, among them five amateurs.
This event holds particular significance as it precedes the prestigious Hero Women’s Indian Open next month, the only Ladies European Tour event in the region. The ongoing battle for the Hero Order of Merit is heating up, with Hitaashee currently leading, closely followed by Sneha Singh, the 2023 winner. Amandeep Drall is also in the mix, looking to regain her form after finishing as runner-up at the HWIO in 2022.
Hitaashee and Sneha each have two wins this season, while Amandeep has secured one. Vidhatri stands out with three victories in the 12 legs held so far. Gaurika Bishnoi and Anvitha Narender, also among the season’s winners, will be competing this week. Ridhima and Seher return from Spain, where they participated in the La Sella Open, hoping to leverage their experience at Golden Greens.
Among the amateurs, keep an eye on Anvvi Dahhiya, who finished fourth in the 12th Leg. Other amateur participants include Nandita Kumar, Janneya Dasanniee, Alysha Dutt, and Prarthana Khanna.
