BNM protests in Netherlands against Baloch genocide
The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a protest and photo exhibition in Utrecht, Netherlands, on Saturday, demanding international intervention to stop what it called the ongoing “genocide” of the Baloch people by Pakistan.
The event, led by BNM’s Netherlands chapter, highlighted Pakistan’s alleged “kill and dump” policy, enforced disappearances, and systemic abuses targeting ethnic and political minorities in Balochistan. The group urged the Dutch government and international community to publicly condemn Pakistan’s actions.
“BNM appeals to the Netherlands to condemn atrocities against Baloch people. Regular awareness campaigns are held in Balochistan about Pakistan’s ‘kill and dump’ policy, which has spread fear and uncertainty. Thousands of families are unaware of the fate of their forcibly disappeared loved ones,” read an official BNM statement.
The protest drew supporters, human rights activists, and members of the Baloch diaspora, who carried banners reading, “Stop Baloch Genocide,” “Free BYC Leaders,” and “Enforced Disappearances Are Unacceptable.”
Alongside the protest, a photo exhibition showcased the harsh realities faced by the Baloch people, with images of cultural resilience, portraits of missing persons, and scenes from daily life under military pressure.
The BNM also called attention to the alleged illegal detention and torture of key figures from the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), including Mahrang Baloch, Shah Jee Baloch, Beebo Baloch, Bibagar Baloch, and Gulzadi Baloch.
Activists described the Pakistan Army’s actions in Balochistan as brutal and demanded urgent global attention to halt the suffering of the region’s population.
“This protest and exhibition reflected BNM Netherlands’ unwavering resolve to raise the voice of the Baloch nation on every global platform and to awaken the international conscience to act against Pakistan’s state-sponsored atrocities,” the group added.
