“Congress Leader Says No Expectations from New Delhi CM Ahead of Atishi’s Swearing-In”
As senior AAP leader Atishi prepares to take office as the new Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday evening, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has expressed strong criticism of the ruling party.
In an interview with IANS, Dikshit stated that he has no expectations for the new Chief Minister and doubts that any improvements will occur in a city he described as “broken.”
Dikshit voiced his skepticism, saying, “We have no hope, and there will be no difference in the administration. The way things have been functioning in Delhi for the past 10 years will continue.”
He pointed out that Arvind Kejriwal will effectively remain the de facto Chief Minister, noting that a court ruling had restricted Kejriwal from taking significant actions, filing cases, or directly communicating with officials, suggesting concerns over potential misconduct.
Dikshit emphasized that the appointment of a new CM appears to be merely a formality. “The party has chosen someone they deem suitable, but typically, when a party leader becomes CM, there’s hope for change. In this case, I don’t see any expectations for improvement in a city that continues to decline.”
Today marks a new political chapter for Atishi, who will be sworn in at a ceremony at Raj Niwas at 4:30 PM, along with five Cabinet ministers. She will become Delhi’s third female Chief Minister, following Sushma Swaraj of the BJP and Sheila Dikshit of Congress.
