Gulf Air flight lands safely in Kuwait after bomb threat

A Gulf Air flight from Bahrain to Kuwait landed safely at Kuwait International Airport on Sunday after a bomb threat prompted emergency protocols. All passengers were safely evacuated, and the suspect behind the threat has been detained, officials confirmed.

The flight, Gulf Air GF213, underwent a full security screening upon arrival. Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, activated emergency procedures as soon as the threat was reported.

“All passengers were safely evacuated with no injuries reported,” said the DGCA in an official statement. Passengers were relocated to a designated lounge inside the airport and were reported to be in good condition.

Authorities conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft to ensure there was no explosive device onboard. The suspect linked to the threat was taken into custody, and legal action is now underway.

DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al Rajhi noted that the incident did not disrupt normal airport operations, and flights continued according to schedule.

Precautionary steps, including aircraft checks and passenger screening, were executed in accordance with established aviation security procedures. The swift and coordinated response ensured passenger and crew safety while confirming the absence of any real threat.

Kuwaiti officials praised the rapid cooperation between airport security, civil aviation authorities, and the Ministry of Interior. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the bomb hoax.

The case underscores the importance of heightened vigilance and rapid crisis management in the region’s aviation sector.
