India slams Pakistan for misusing OIC, rejects remarks on Kashmir

India on Monday strongly rejected the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) “unwarranted and factually incorrect” remarks about Jammu and Kashmir, accusing Pakistan of misusing the platform to push its propaganda.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) criticised the references made at the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), held in Istanbul on June 21–22, stating that the OIC has no locus standi to comment on India’s internal affairs.

“These statements, driven by Pakistan — a country that has turned terrorism into statecraft — reflect the continued misuse of the OIC platform for narrow political ends,” the MEA said.

The Indian government expressed regret that the OIC continues to ignore the real threat of cross-border terrorism, most recently evident in the Pahalgam terror attack. India said the failure to acknowledge this threat shows a willful disregard for global consensus against terrorism.

Reaffirming that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, the MEA slammed Pakistan’s attempts to deflect international attention from its own poor record on terrorism, human rights, and governance. The MEA also rejected Pakistan’s allegations of “unprovoked aggression,” clarifying that India’s Operation Sindoor was a legitimate act of self-defense.

“It is ironic that a country with an abysmal human rights record and a history of sheltering terrorists would lecture others on counter-terrorism and rights,” the MEA said.

India advised the OIC to avoid being hijacked by Pakistan’s agenda and reaffirmed its commitment to building strong ties with the Islamic world — ties that have strengthened significantly under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
