Global outrage as Iran strikes US bases in Qatar
Nations across the globe have strongly condemned Iran’s missile attack on US military bases in Qatar, escalating concerns over rising instability in the Middle East.
According to reports, Iran launched six missiles on Monday targeting US installations in Iraq and Qatar in an operation dubbed the “Annunciation of Victory.” However, most of the missiles were intercepted by American Patriot defense systems, minimizing damage.
French President Emmanuel Macron expressed solidarity with Qatar, calling the Iranian strike a violation of international law. “France stands alongside Qatar and each of its partners in the Gulf,” Macron posted on X. He urged all sides to exercise restraint and return to diplomacy.
Australia also condemned the attack. Foreign Minister Penny Wong wrote on X, “Australia condemns Iran’s strikes on US bases in Qatar and Iraq… We continue to call for de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy.”
Kuwait issued a strong statement denouncing the missile attack on the Al Udeid Air Base, calling it a “flagrant violation” of Qatari sovereignty and a serious threat to regional stability. The country expressed full support for Qatar and its right to respond appropriately.
Saudi Arabia joined in, condemning the attack as a blatant breach of international norms and affirming complete solidarity with Qatar. The Saudi Foreign Ministry stated, “The Kingdom places all its capabilities at Qatar’s disposal.”
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the aggression, affirming its support for Qatar’s sovereignty and warning against the regional repercussions of continued escalation.
The widespread condemnation highlights growing global alarm over the rapidly intensifying conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States in the Gulf region.
