Iran announces halt in military operations against Israel amid regional tensions

Iran’s main military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, announced on Monday that it has halted its military operations against Israel, signaling a possible de-escalation in recent hostilities between the two regional rivals.

According to Iranian media reports, the military command stated that operations had been suspended but warned that any further Israeli “aggression” or military action, including attacks in southern Lebanon, would trigger a much stronger response from Iran.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Tehran remains committed to both diplomacy and national defense. In a statement posted on social media, he said Iran would continue to safeguard its national security and the interests of its people while remaining open to diplomatic engagement.

The announcement follows several days of heightened military exchanges. Iran said its actions were carried out in support of Lebanon following Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs. Tehran also accused the United States of supporting Israeli military operations in the region.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for launching ballistic missile attacks against Israeli military targets, including the Ramat David Air Base, Nevatim Air Base, and Tel Nof Air Base. The strikes were described as retaliation for what Iran called Israeli actions in Lebanon.

In response, Israel conducted airstrikes on multiple locations inside Iran, including facilities linked to the country’s energy and industrial sectors.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that Israel suspended additional strikes on Iran following a request from U.S. President Donald Trump. Israeli officials also warned of further action if Hezbollah continued attacks on Israeli communities.

Despite the announcement of a halt in operations, tensions remain high. Earlier Monday, an Iranian military source stated that Tehran remains prepared for a prolonged conflict and is ready to respond to any threats against its interests or allies in the region.
