Israeli Military Reports Eight Soldiers Killed in Clashes with Hezbollah
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed that eight soldiers lost their lives during combat with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The fatalities occurred during two separate engagements on Wednesday. In one confrontation, three officers and three soldiers from the elite commando unit Egoz—known for its expertise in complex terrain, fieldcraft, camouflage, and miniature warfare—were killed while fighting in a building. Five other soldiers from the same unit sustained serious injuries.
In a second battle, two soldiers from the Golani infantry brigade were killed by mortar fire, and another was severely wounded. Additionally, a Golani combat medic was seriously injured in a separate incident.
Among those killed was 22-year-old Eitan Oster, a squad commander in Egoz, as confirmed by the IDF earlier in the day.
These casualties were reported as Israeli forces continued their advance into Lebanon against Hezbollah on the northern front.
