Jaishankar acknowledges diaspora’s impact on India-Netherlands diplomacy

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, during his visit to the Netherlands, lauded the Indian diaspora for its role in deepening India-Netherlands relations.

“Interacted with representatives of the Indian community this evening. Value the contribution of the community to building a stronger relationship between India and the Netherlands,” Jaishankar posted on X.

On Monday, Jaishankar met Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans to discuss security cooperation and potential for bilateral defense ties. He also met Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, appreciating the Netherlands’ condemnation of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its support for a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism.

The two ministers explored opportunities to deepen India-Netherlands relations, enhance EU engagement, and address global issues in an era of multipolarity.

Jaishankar also held talks with strategic experts in The Hague, emphasizing the importance of stronger India-EU collaboration.

He is on a six-day visit to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany to boost strategic, economic, and geopolitical partnerships.
